Can you imagine your life without being able to attend church? Can you imagine not hearing God’s Word? Thanks to a new app, attending church will become a new experience for people with hearing disabilities. For many who cannot hear, attending church and listening to the Word of God are different realities.

Reading a Bible and hearing it are two different ways in which Christians access the Gospel. Deaf Bible Society’s Deaf Bible app provides free and easy access to Scripture portions in many of the different sign languages used around the world.  This way, Deaf people can receive the promises of Christ.

Communicating with all Christians

According to Mission Network News, “exact statistics are hard to come by, but most ministries working among the Deaf agree that 98 percent of the world’s 70 million Deaf people are “unreached” — people who’ve never encountered the Good News of Jesus.” The Deaf Bible Society is changing this.

Wonderful sign language interpretation of the Bible

A new app called the Deaf Bible and the Deaf Church Where? website are working together to create a new Church experience for people who are hearing impaired. Scott DeLoach, director of technology for the Deaf Bible Society, says the organization is hoping to see the two apps working together to encourage more people who are Deaf to be involved and engaged with their products.

He hopes that these products will help dissipate the problem of isolation in the church for people who are hearing impaired. He hopes that more deaf people will attend church despite these communication barriers. He says, “Maybe because they don’t know where the church is, or they think [the church is] not going to have an interpreter service,” DeLoach adds that people who are Deaf face limited options when selecting a church.

The question of where I can find a Deaf Church or a Church that has interpreters or uses sign language was not easy or answer. The Deaf Bible Society’s team knew they had to do something. So, they created an online tool called Deaf Church Where! This is an online directory with up to date information for US churches that offer various levels of Deaf ministry.

Amazing Integrated App

The new Deaf Bible app gives free and easy access to Scripture in many different sign languages used around the world. This app will offer Sign Language Bibles from an interactive and easy to use interface. It has a variety of translations communicated by skilled signers in sharp, close-up, color video.

The Deaf Bible app is easy to navigate and to watch. Content is fully accessible to the Deaf with extensive use of videos to communicate in their native, heart language. New sign language translations are being added frequently, providing you with the widest selection of Sign Language Bibles. Deaf Church Where! is the integrated Church location directory in the app.

With technology like this, there is an answer to relieving the issue of isolation that Deaf Christians feel. Let us pray for the easy access and increased integration of Deaf Christians to all churches. For Apple click here. For Android click here.
